CNY holiday is one of the longest holiday festivals in the People’s Republic of China and other countries which is influenced by Chinese culture and society; they visit their family members and re-united spend time with each other talking about good days, bad days, and so forth with love and affection.
Reunion with loved ones who love you, and who you love- in life, nothing is a happier moment than this. In my opinion, staying with parents, eating together, talking happy moments, laughing, recalling each other the past, and enjoying the meeting with coffee together.
Clean house and remove the bad luck
As usual, the cleaning process is always necessary whether festival time or other time, but our intention is to focus more on tidiness during the festival time because many people may come to visit each other’s home. The cleaning room/ flat during the CNY spring festival has a different belief. People believe that cleaning will eliminate all toxic and bad luck from the house and welcome good luck. Therefore, New year cleaning is vital for a higher good.
People use new dresses and authentic traditional food.
Kids are enjoying much out of all the other age groups. They want new clothes, ask for money from their parents to buy sweets and other stuff, enjoy with grand parents collecting gifts like cloth, and other things, therefore children’s are the ones who love the festival much – parents are always happy with their kinds happiness. However, adults are responsible. They feel good reuniting with their families and friends. Mostly in this time, people use typical Chinese dress and eat traditional food in a group of people i.e families, society, etc.
Decorate doors and windows with papers the color paper:
Yes, it’s Chinese culture, they usually decorate doors, windows, and some other spaces home i.e room and outside with colorful paper decorations for the welcoming New year, and let go of bad fortune. Even, we have seen in Hong Kong and China big residential complexes that decorate with light, all these paper stuff and making venue attractive.
Welcoming the Good Fortune:
The spring festival always comes with Good fortune- when we give us a blessing to others always say “Kung Hei Fat Choi” which means wishing for prosperity; wish them to become wealthy which indirectly say lucky in a year and ahead.
Give the red pocket envelope to the juniors for good luck:
A red pocket envelop is one of the most popular ways of wishing for prosperity good luck during the Chinese new year time. Especially, Seniors will give red pockets for juniors or the same age, colleagues can exchange.
