Lion Rock Mountain in Hong Kong is a gem located in the Sha Tin district, between Kowloon and Tai Wai. Its shape resembles a lion, hence the name. Standing at about 1,625 feet above sea level, it’s a sight to behold, attracting both locals and tourists.

Why is Lion Rock popular?
Its lush greenery and lion-like silhouette draw hikers of all levels. There are plenty of trails, from moderate to challenging. Plus, it offers BBQ areas, mechanical fitness spots, and play areas for kids, making it a favorite hangout for everyone.
How to reach Lion Rock?
The easiest way is to take the MTR to Tai Wai station and walk 1.5 km uphill to Lion Rock. You can also grab a taxi from Tai Sin MTR or hop on a green minibus outside exit E for a convenient ride.
What’s the best time to go?
Aim for clear skies, preferably in winter. You can spend 3 to 4 hours hiking, or even longer if you’re having a BBQ. It’s a perfect spot for a full day out with friends and family!

I have been Hong Kong last couple of decades now, visited popular sports several time early living here, once having a father of two kids busy in business and job make me slightly distract local trip however, I have lots of trip out of Hong Kong mainly east Asian countries.
