The Central ferry pier, located in the northern part of Central, ferries depart from here to different islands nearby Hong Kong like Park Island, Discovery Bay, Cheung Chau, Lama Island, Mui Wo, etc. Also, some of them go to the Kowloon side; Tsim Sha Tsui and Hung Hom. There is a taxi stand just in front of the Pier.
Some of the ferry slots, reserved for a specific purpose, like Pier one, reserved for the Hong Kong Government, and 9 and 10, assigned as a public pier, only use for the general public under the legal terms and conditions.
There are ten arrival and departure terminals at the Central ferry pier, from each also; ferry leaves to the specific destination with the allocated timetable.
The Octopus card, widely used in Hong Kong for transport ticket payment, including all local water transports, MTR, Buses, minibusses, etc. The visitors or tourists who don’t possess the digital card can use the vending machine with coins or notes to take a ticket, alternately can take the key from the ticket counter if available. After getting boat ticket anyone can sit freely on a first-come-first-served basis deapite of indicate any classes i.e first class, ecominic class, etc.

Pier 1 Dedicated to The Government
This area is reserved for all kinds of governments of Hong Kong.
Pier 2 Park Island
From this terminal, ferries go to Park Island. The journey time is about 30-35 minutes. The service is available till midnight. Park Island is a beautiful island with fresh air with a shallow pollution index because this is a very isolated area, and no other vehicles are allowed. Noah’s Ark is one of the big attractions of this island; many local and international tourists visit the Noah’s Ark every year.
Pier 3 Discovery Bay
Discovery Bay ferry service is available at slot 3 from the Central ferry terminal. The time duration is about 30-35 minutes to reach Dbay
DB is a lovely place to live and travel; it has a beautiful beach, it’s an excellent area to play with the sand, so good to go with kids. Pier 4 Lama Island (So Kwu Wan, Yung Shue Wan)
Area 4, specified for the Lama Island, two separate popular venues; So Kwu Wan and Yung Shue Wan. After taking the ticket, make sure you are entering the correct pier.
So Kwu Wan is another bay area east side of Lama Island, a small place & it is famous for fishing. There are trendy seafood restaurants at the So Kwun Wan pier itself, Seafood lovers, please do try first once you reach there. The Ferry runs about 75 minutes to 120 minutes time interval. Usually, the frequency is faster in the morning and slower in the afternoon. It takes about 30-35 minutes to reach So Kwun Wan port.
Yung Shue Wan is situated on the north side of Lama Island. Like another area, this also popular for seafood and village life experience. The Ferry frequency in the morning time is 30-35 minutes and the day time approximately 40-60 minutes. The time duration to reach the boarding port to the destination post is around 30 minutes.
Pier 5 Cheung Chau
Cheung Chau is a beautiful place; there is a beautiful beach, available wonderful seafood restaurants to eat, and to see the village life. From pier 5, two types of ferries provide the services; speed ferry and slow ferry; you may take one which you wish to take. New World First Ferry Company provides its services to this route every day. Cheing Chau ferry carries lots of passengers eveeyday from Central Pier to Cheung Chau and vise versa. Especially, you enjoy cycling, eat seafood, also hiking and much more. Lots of local people go there for night stay with family and friend.
Avoid going there for Typhoon and the raining season becuase you have to ho by boats/ ferry. Make sure safety is first.
Follow Cheung Chau ferry schedule and reach in time, time table is available at the ferry terminal.
Pier 6 Mui Wo, Peng Chau
Mui Wo, located at Silvermine Bay, is a rural area of the LanTau island People use to go to Mui Wo for a picnic and see the beautiful waterfall view, hiking, and more fun activities. Mui Wo Ferry carries lots of people everyday and it is one of very popular destination for seafood lovers. Peng Chau is another small Island of Long Tau Island; it’s famous for Temples, seafood, etc.
Pier 7 Tsim Sha Tsui
The Star Ferry service company provides the service of carrying passengers from Central Ferry Terminal to TST and vice versa.
Star Ferry operates its service from morning 6:30 am to 11.30 pm. They are still using the ancient ferry for a long time, which shows its symbolic representation of the ferry’s history.
Pier 8 HK Maritime Museum & Hung Hom
This slot provides a service for the above two destinations; some snacks, small shops, and coffee shops can serve the passengers.
Pier 9 and 10 are assigned as Public pier
These two slots are open for the public, boats which are reserved for hourly or for the day trip, they will pick up and drop off the passengers either of these slots.

• Take Mass Transit Railway Central Station and take a Long bridge which connects the IFC mall to Central Ferry Termal- it take 5-8 minutes to reach.
• These bus routs connects the ferry terminals. 962A, 934, 930, 6x.
You can install Bus app to make you update 24/7 evey bus routs e.g KMB app or CityBus app
• Another option to reach ferry pier is to take Taxi, and Hong Kong taxi is very resonable and all are meter taxi. Alternately, you may use Uber service from your home which is more convenience and almost same rate as taxi.
