Chaurasi Puja, one of the Celebrations of worship that the person witnesses, saw 1000 Purnima (Full moon), this means as per Hinduism, a person who reaches 80 years plus, they become a God, so that Celebration takes place while reaching 84 years; which the path to the heaven is clear without any obstacle.
This Puja is our lively mother who is still energetic and active in her daily life; she is kind, lovely, and enthusiastic towards all the families and others. We are also part of the Puja, taking our roles of responsibility and completing them successfully. My wife and I went from Hong Kong to Semlar to participate in the event, however, I went via Kathmandu, Tribhuwan International Airport as Bhairahawa airport is not operate yet from HK to Bhairahawa.
As explained already, after chaurasi, the path is clear for going to heaven. After eight decades, any person becomes treated as Paramatma ( part of God). That is the point one reaches and changes their status under religion.
During the Chaurasi, many other functions can be simultaneously, like a Bratabandha, Rudri, Sradha, and lakh Batti,
etc. so many do all these things at a time; even grand son do Brathanada during the grandma/pa Chaurasi. Now a days Nepali Hindu temple in Yau Ma Tei, can do Brathabanda as well.
“Tula Dan” is one exciting part of the 84th-year Celebration, which is part of the process. Use Tula (Taraju), sit one part elderly and the other part keep the money primarily use coins because of making enough weight. After balancing equally, distribute all these coins to the puja participants, which is exciting. In our mother’s case, she was 56 KG during that time.
Hom (fireplace puja, using wood and Ghee) Aama Caurasi I took responsibility for Hom, including the other two Pandit Ji, which is easy and not very tricky. I chose this because I know these procedures much less than my other brothers. Basically, Chaurasi Puja takes place a total of 1+1=2 days, with many formalities, Rekhi. Nowadays, everything comes readymade, so there is no need to worry about making an extra effort at the puja venue.
There is nothing my than the Sradha and others on the first day, which only Damu did, but on the second day total of eight pandits jees, including Aama, sons, Buhari’s, and other relatives. All these Pictures are associated our mother Radha Devi Dhakal
