Cheung Yeung. Festival is related to the “ancestors memory” as per the Chinese calendar it falls in the nine-month.In Hong Kong, Chinese people go to the grave cleansing and pay them respect and get the blessing from those in heaven. Every year Hong Kong Government gives a public Holiday at this festival.

Chung Yeung Festival meaning and What people do during Chung Yeung Festival:
Chung Yeung festival’s meaning is to remember the ancestors. During and after the Chung Yeung festival, people do some activities they love to do. During this period, restaurants, shopping malls, and tourist attraction places like Disneyland, Noah’s Ark, Big Buddha, Ocean Park, Wetland Park, etc., are bustling, so if you are not a crowd lover, avoid going to tourist attraction places.
Some of the activities people do during the festivals are:
Hiking:
Hong Kong is heaven for the Hiking trials like a Maclehose, peak trial, Tai lam, Lantau, Tai Mo Shan, etc. I do not personally find it fun hiking. But, some of my friends used to do it every day.
Picnic:
Like Hiking, Hong Kong is a good place for a picnic and outdoor get-together. Lots of areas available for the picnic Almost every beach and hiking trail. Most of them are seating, benched concrete type, toilet facilities, water, etc. Small gatherings fit.
Eat together:
Eat together can go either home, restaurants, BBQ picnic, etc. We are always open, share things, and exchange views while eating or spending time together. Eat Together is the hood part of the Chung Yeung Festival
Visit the temple:
Many festivals celebrate spiritual points of view, and many do not. Therefore it is obvious to go to a temple and get blessings. I personally love to go temple during the spiritual weight festival. The famous temples are Po Lin Monastery, Big Buddha, Tin Hau Temple, Man Mo Temple, Pak Tai Temple, Ten Thousand Buddha, Wong Tao Sin Temple
Flying Kites:
Kite flying is fun, Especially for Chong Yeung festival time. Kite flying is popular. Also, they believe that if the kite flies and is not returned, it could not be a good sign, so everyone wants the flying kite back for a good vibe. Kite flying is good on most beaches. Apart from this, I saw Tai Po Water park as a suitable place to fly and many kids flying Kites there.
Eat Chongyang Cake:
Chongyang Cake is a unique cake that is eaten during Chong Yang Festival and other times as well. This traditional cake is made with rice flour, sugar, baked and steamed, and prepared. You can put additional nuts like chestnuts, almond cashew nuts, etc., as your taste.
Finally, the festival is respectable because memories of the ancestors whose spirits are in heaven, memorizing the good things that they did and we are here is the connection of different spirit which make strong bonds between all living souls of different horizons.
