Taxi Via Uber Comparison, taxis have been using their services for a long time now in Hong Kong, but Uber is online booking using apps. As both taxis and Uber calculated the cost based on the time and the distance traveled. The credit card charges Uber in advance during the booking; the traffic speed wouldn’t make any difference on the cost, but the taxi cost varies its speed, traffic, etc. Hong Kong taxis are efficient because of availability, meter system, no bargain, etc.; also it is available virtually anytime 24/7 in most of the parts in Hong Kong. In recent years Uber has also rising star in Hong Kong’s road, and many people prefer Uber as well because of online system booking and availability is particular for most of the places; unless otherwise, at the late-night or unusual places

Taxi Uber charge comparison Price:
About two months back, 5-6 families went to Tai Mo Shan for the family picnic. Food was prepared at home, and we ate Tai Mo Shan country Park in a group environment. We took a meter taxi from Tin Shui Wai to Tai Mo Shan, and it cost 160+ extra. Just 3-weeks back, the family Gathering At Janai Purnima in the same spot; almost identical family members, but we ordered food from the Restaurant. We booked an Uber taxi from the Uber App at 1.30 pm that cost less than HK$100, exactly HK$98 + HK$5 charges. But, while we plan to back from there at 8.15 pm to Home, the Uber cost shown was around $200, and no more available (we tried more than 15 minutes). Ultimately, one of our friends gave us a lift in his car near Tsuen Wan MTR. We took a double decker bus from Tsuen Wan and reached home. Last Sunday, we went to the same place with kids by UberX, which cost us HKD170, which is about the exact cost as the meter Taxi charged us earlier.
Here, the taxi has a stable rate the whole day, but the Uber cost fluctuates, depends on the time of the day, which sometimes goes double, which is my experiences

Uber Safety
Uber is new for Hong Kong several years now running on the Hong Kong road, they are improving safety measures which concern many. Despite all these still much more issues there. Uber Hong Kong Insurance and the driver’s identity are vital for safety. I mentioned my personal experiences one and a year back, and I booked Uber Central to Tin Shui Wai at night; my friend lot mobile as it was night and we were drunk. We tried to contact the driver, the system even we can’t connect them; we tried the next day, so I feel it was a mobile issue; if there was a live issue and no response. What would it be? So I say it is not much safer. If Uber puts more safety on their services, it’s tough for HK meter taxis to compete because
